Energy gels...jellybeans...




So I've had a few people ask me lately about energy gels and Jelly Beans designed to help you during your runs. I think they are great for actual races and for your long runs, but not for your runs during the week. I like the GU Energy Gels because they tell you on the packet exactly when to use them.   They give me a boost of energy without making me feel wired or dizzy. Plus, there is no crash afterwards. I try to wash them down with some water, but they don't taste bad at all if you don't have water available.

   Brenna's not a big fan of the gel feel, so she has tried the Sport Beans before. She liked the texture better, but said that it took a little longer for the energy to kick in.
